Canadian citizens or permanent residents can apply for sponsorship for their grandparents or parent to allow them for permanently move to Canada. This is one of the programs that IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada), allows for family reunion for their residents.
A permanent resident or person having a Canadian citizen is considered as your potential sponsor. The IRCC has established certain criteria for allowing your grandparents or parents to come Canada. To bring them to Canada as permanent residents or as Canadian citizens, they must complete the following paperwork and criteria.
Sponsor should be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen over age of 18 years old.
Evidence of financial capability to care for their grandparents or parents.
Sponsors should be eligible for their grandparents or parents to sponsor them.
Submit the medical records of their grandparents or parents.
They must submit the police clearance certificate from their grandparents or parents.
They must submit biometrics from their grandparents or parents.
They must sign an undertaking agreement stating that they will meet the basic needs of the person being sponsored.
They must also show that they have sufficient funds to provide basic necessities for their family in Canada as well as for those included in their sponsorship.
You will need to meet the minimum income requirements to be eligible. The potential sponsor must also agree to support your grandparents or parents for at least 20 years, depending on the circumstances.
